Phil’s life (Adam Devine) is completely dependent on his cell phone and apps, and when he buys a new one he discovers an operating system that will change his life: Jexi (voiced by Rose Byrne).
Jexi will have access to all of Phill's information, and that can be a danger when the virtual assistant becomes jealous of Cate (Alexandra Shipp), the protagonist's new romance.
Filmmakers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore present Jexi, a comedy that makes viewers reflect with great humor on the effects of technology.
Kai, a very demanding boss
But Phil also has a job, with a somewhat particular boss played by Michael Peña. Kai is responsible for Chatterbox- a pop online news site- and drives Devine crazy with his demands and orders.
This duo of directors was surprised by Peña's work. "He is incredible! We filmed his scenes the first week of shooting and he entered with a whirlwind of energy. If this guy is going to get into a 10, let's join him,” recalls John Lucas.
Peña admits that his character is an angry technological guy, but he also sees it somewhat stuck. "It's fun to be so angry because I don't usually play these kinds of characters," said the actor.
Jexi is certainly a must-see comedy!
