Annette Bening returns to theaters with The Report

The actress with many years of experience stars alongside Adam Driver the political thriller of the year

Annette Bening is one of the most recognized actresses in the industry. The legendary actress who moved last year with her performance in Film Stars Don’t die in Liverpool returns now with The Report, in a role that also promises to be shocking.

The plot follows the struggle of the US Senate official Daniel J. Jones- played by Adam Driver- to spread a report on the secret torture program of the CIA, practiced against suspected terrorists following the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Torture as a weapon of the Estate

Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Scott Z. Burns, Bening's role will be key to evidence the most inhuman practices carried out by the US government to find those guilty of the massacre.

In the role of a real-life character, Bening plays the woman who was then head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, a body that investigated the accusations of torture within the CIA.

Together with Jones, she will fiercely fight so that the truth about the immoral "improved interrogation techniques" comes to light. But nothing will be easy and both must face unpredictable consequences.
