The place where a story goes is of utmost importance for the development of a film. What appears as background is an element that functions as a framework in which the protagonists develop the plot.
The plot of Peppermint, the next work by director Pierre Morel, which marks the return of Jennifer Garner to action movies, focuses on the change in the protagonist's life after the murder of her family.
Being able to reflect a perfect life and another linked to darkness and revenge, needed a city that would adapt to those changes: and what better than Los Angeles to fulfill that role.
"Filming in the same city where the film is actually developed is almost a luxury these days, and we were lucky enough to shoot in Los Angeles," explains Pierre Morel. "However, we wanted to show a different side of the city, away from the glow of Hollywood. We wanted to shed light on the dark corners and the people who occupy those spaces."
