In the new film directed by Brian Henson (son of the creator of the Muppets, Jim Henson) the puppets co-exist with humans, albeit as second-class citizens.
In that world, the puppet and disgraced ex-policeman Phil Phillips must return to the ring and seriously investigate the death of his brother, along with the serial murders of the cast of a famous children's program of the eighties, "The Happytime Gang".
He will not be alone. He will team up with his old human partner, Detective Connie Edwards, and that results in another masterful and entertaining performance by Melissa McCarthy.
