Tully: a look at mental health

We revisit this particular and touching story on mental health day

On Depression Awareness Day, we revisit the film starring Charlize Theron and directed by Jason Reitman. The film follows Marlo, who has always done everything on her own but things get a little complicated with the arrival of her third child. When she finally gives in and hires an energetic, free-spirited babysitter for the nights, Tully, she discovers a part of herself that had been dormant and now begins to surface.

Tully is a story full of love that presents the personal battles against one's resignations and frustrations. The film explores the internal struggle of the protagonist, who must not only meet the obligations of raising the baby and her other two children but also cope with depression. It is a suggestive film about how many women, burdened by domestic chores and social pressures, deal with motherhood.
