Russell Crowe at the races

He was present at the NASCAR Cup Series

On June 20, the NASCAR Cup Series was held in Talladega, a city in the state of Alabama, United States. There, Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe served as the Grand Marshall for NASCAR Xfinity Series Unhinged 300, whose name “Unhinged 300” refers to his upcoming movie. The actor gave the command for drivers to "Start your engines" for the race.

Unhinged is an action-packed psychological thriller where Crowe, the protagonist, plays a man who has an altercation at a traffic light with a woman (Caren Pistorius) and releases his anger in an unthinkable way.

Like the film, Talladega's race is intense, a great challenge and takes drivers to the limit with 33-degree of banking in the turns in its nearly 500 kilometers. The track was built in 1969 and it has been hosting the NASCAR Xfinity series since 1992. Although the race had no audience present, it was broadcast live on various channels and social networks, so people could enjoy the award ceremony with Justin Haley as the winner.
