Luke Evans in a fascinating war drama

One of the protagonists of Midway by Roland Emmerich

Welsh actor Luke Evans is known for his roles in Dracula Untold, The Beauty and the Beast and in the series The Alienist.

But in that large successful career, there is one important role in a war drama film that stands out and will give plenty to talk about: Midway, directed by Roland Emmerich.

With a cast including Woody Harrelson, Mandy Moore, Luke Kleintank and Aaron Eckhart, the film is based on the true story of the most important battle of the Pacific War essential for the triumph of the allied powers during the Second World War.

A story of friendship, courage and sacrifice

In an impressive performance in which Evans plays a different role, this 40-years-old actor plays Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky, the military man who led the crucial air attack that caused the sinking of two Japanese aircraft carriers in the decisive Battle of Midway, which took place in 1942, months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

A must- see portray of the confrontation that meant a turning point in the bloodiest conflict in the history of mankind.
