Peter Segal: "I wanted to have the opportunity to work with Dave Bautista"

The renowned director faces a new challenge in My Spy

Versatility, talent and experience are the three words that best define director Peter Segal. Always active, he finishes a project and is already embarked on a new one. After the success of Second Act, here comes My Spy, a new comedy mixed with other genres the whole family will love.

"I really wanted to have the opportunity to work with Dave Bautista, he's a rising star. The audience knows him as a rude character but now I think they will see him in a very different way, and that will surprise many people," said the director when referring to the choice of the protagonist of this funny action comedy.

"Dave is perfect to play a CIA agent. I mean, you see his imposing stature and he fits perfectly. That made him feel very real. And finding the opposite of him in Chloe Coleman was incredible," the director added about the leading duo.

My Spy. Two strangers who will learn from each other

Agent JJ (Baptist) isn’t in his finest moment: many of his missions end badly. In his last chance to do things really well, he is uncovered by an intrepid 9-year-old girl (Coleman), who will propose him a deal he cannot deny.
