How does the Hotel Artemis work inside?

An innovative hospital that houses the most dangerous criminals in the city

The worn exterior of a building actually covers a cutting-edge hospital on the attic level. There takes place the action of Hotel Artemis, the debut by writer and director Drew Pearce.

In a city of Los Angeles sunk in chaos, this cutting- edge hotel/ hospital called Artemis receives only the emergencies of the badly wounded criminals during their robberies.

Exclusivity for those who break the law

The guests of the hotel run by The Nurse (the character played by Jodie Foster) receive a pseudonym associated with places such as Waikiki, Acapulco or Niagara. Something that proves Artemis' commitment to anonymity. Besides, criminals must identify themselves with a chip inserted in their wrists.

This is how peace is kept within the hotel on the delicate balance of a series of strict rules of coexistence, among which stands out not to kill the other patients.

But one night the conflict explodes in Artemis and one criminal will challenge Foster´s character to generate a war in the premises she herself has been ruling for 22 years.

After all, thieves break the rules and the enigmatic building will become a battlefield full of intrigue and action.
