Director José Padilha's words
Taking the event to the big screen was not an easy task for the Brazilian filmmaker who chose to divide the narrative into two levels: "My film tells two parallel stories about the attack: on the one hand, we look at the saga of hostages and terrorists, and how their interaction and mental states evolved during the days," he said.
But, in addition, he also wanted to account the political injections of the event: "On the other hand, we observed the internal debate about the kidnapping inside the Israeli government and the opposing positions assumed by the Defense Minister, Simon Peres, who was against the negotiations, and Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin", who was in favor.
The cast is composed of Daniel Brühl, Rosamund Pike and Vincent Riotta.
