Ari Aster talks about Beau is Afraid

The director reveals details of his latest film

A new film starring Joaquin Phoenix (C'mon C'mon; Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot) is coming this year! The film follows a man named Beau, who must go on a great adventure to visit his mother. Along the way, he will encounter several characters who will lead him to confront his worst fears and the traumas that have scarred him for life.

The director of Hereditary talks about the inspiration behind Beau is Afraid: "I had an idea that made me laugh, I thought it was funny, I wrote it down, then I had another fun idea. Those ideas came together and turned into this film, which I think is very funny". This is a project that he had wanted to film for a long time but was only able to carry out in recent years, once he had access to the right resources to tell the story.

Another great opportunity this project brought Ari Aster was the chance to work together with Joaquin Phoenix. The director was fascinated by Joaquin's talent from the moment he saw the film I'm still here, not only for his performance but also for the courage to use his name for the character. For Ari Aster, the shooting of Beau is Afraid was a happy experience thanks to his cast, including Michael Gandolfini, Zoe Lister-Jones, Parker Posey, Amy Ryan (Beautiful Boy), and Nathan Lane.

Would you like to see this movie on the big screen? It will soon be in theaters in Latin America.
