Hugh Jackman was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney. The actor, singer, and producer grew up in Australia but is also a British citizen. He showed his talent as an actor from an early age when he participated in the school play My Fair Lady. Even so, he studied to be a journalist until his last year of university when he took a drama course to make up additional credits. From that moment on, he discovered his passion for acting and decided to continue studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth.
His first acting role was in the Australian television series Correlli where he met his future wife. Later, he was part of several plays and musicals until the character that brought him international recognition: Wolverine in the X-Men trilogy.
After such a leading role, he continued to participate in other successful titles such as Kate & Leopold, Swordfish, and Van Helsing. He never ceases to demonstrate his superb talent on the big screen and soon we will have the chance to see a new story: The Son, a film that received a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival.
The Son, which is inspired by a play, tells the story of Peter, who has a life together with Emma and their baby. However, everything changes when his ex-wife Kate reappears with their son, Nicholas, a teenager who is constantly getting into trouble. He is is difficult to communicate with, aggressive, distant, and has just dropped out of school.
