The Survivor: the film inspired by a Holocaust boxer

All about this thrilling film based on true events

The film starring Ben Foster (Lone Survivor360) revolves around the story of a boxer called Haft who fought against his fellow inmates to survive in the Auschwitz concentration camp and survived the Holocaust. Haunted by the memories and guilt of those times, he tries to continue through high-profile boxing matches to reunite with his first love: Leah, his childhood sweetheart.

The film, based on the book written by Haft's son, Alan Scott Haft, tells the story of his father's terrible experience during the Holocaust. When he was a teenage boy, he was taken to a concentration camp, where he was a slave laborer in unthinkable conditions, and performed hard tasks such as disposing of corpses. Within this terrible situation, the opportunity arose for him to participate in boxing matches as a way of entertainment for the German officers.

Directed by filmmaker Barry Levinson, The Survivor features a great cast, including Peter Sarsgaard (Jackie), Danny DeVito, and John Leguizamo. A film that invites you to reflect on how to move on with your life, how to restart after a traumatic experience, and have faith that it is possible to move forward.
