Kristen Stewart: the promise of the awards season

Her role as Diana Spencer might earn her an Oscar award

All bets are on that the talented Kristen Stewart (Lizzie, Still Alice), who was internationally acclaimed for her role as Lady Di in Spencer, will receive nominations for the Golden Globes and the Oscars. One the latest events that seem to confirm this is her participation in the latest issue of the magazine The Hollywood Reporter, where she was invited to talk about her character.

The film directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie) tells a part of the life of worldwide known Princess Diana, specifically, her last vacation at Sandringham before moving on with the separation of her marriage. It is a feature film that has stood out in several festivals and that has generated a positive impact on the specialized press.

An Oscar nomination would be a milestone in the actress’s career although it wouldn’t necessarily be her first achievement. Kristen Stewart was previously recognized as the only American actress to win a César award in France for her role in Clouds of Sils Maria. Far from her early days as Bella in Twilight, she admitted she doesn't care too much whether she will be nominated or not. But the critics have said that Spencer features one of the performances of the year, a fact also confirmed by Ken Wharfe, the princess’ bodyguard. Ken states that Kristen Stewart is the actress who has best portrayed Diana in ten years.

Revisit the trailer and keep an eye out for more news as Spencer is expected to hit theaters in early 2022 in Latin America.
