Kristen Stewart has been chosen to star in the new film by Chilean director Pablo Larraín: Spencer, where she will play Princess Diana, an influential and world famous woman. This is definitely a huge challenge for Stewart, who is already in the race to be nominated as best actress for the role. Here are some interesting facts:
- Stewart is the only American actress to win a César award in France for her performance in Clouds of Sils Maria.
- For the filming of the movie, she worked with a dialect coach to achieve an accent and tone of voice as similar as possible to Lady Di.
- She read several biographies of the Princess to get involved as much as possible in her character and understand in depth the events of her life and develop in each scene the feelings and emotions she went through.
- Larraín said in an interview about Stewart: "Kristen can be many things, mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time (...)."
The film will be released in US theaters in November and we hope to have news about the Latin American release in the coming weeks.
