The consequences of Hereditary on Alex Wolff

Terrifying!

Alex Wolff was part of the cast of Hereditary, a critically acclaimed 2018 horror film that has become a sort of classic. This film by Ari Aster will definitely remain forever in our memory. Moreover, the performance of the protagonist - Toni Colette – gave plenty to talk about as it dazzled everyone. But what are the consequences of filming a horror movie with really strong scenes on an emotional level?

"I’ll tell you that movie did about as much damage to me as a movie can do," Wolff said in an interview and then added, "It’s very hard because as an actor, you really don’t want to sound pretentious or too serious because we have a cushy job in a lot of ways, but this was one of those tough ones on my emotional well-being." His role as Peter Graham earned him rave reviews, but he suffered great emotional and psychological consequences on a personal level.

The actor also drunk balsamic vinegar before each scene to better show the terror on his face. There is also a scene where a demon possesses him at school and when he falls, he hits so hard that the blood running down his nose was real.

If you want to watch again the trailer of this disturbing film, you can do it here. In addition to Colette and Wolff, Milly Shapiro and Gabriel Byrne are also part of the cast.
