Mark Wahlberg is one of the most sought-after actors in the Hollywood industry. He has been in many action movies such as Mile 22 and Lone Survivor, where he required special training to get in shape for his roles. As he is experienced in exercise routines and fitness, we share below some secrets of this Oscar-nominated actor.

Wahlberg shared posts and stories on his social media talking about some of the changes he made to his diet, for example, he reduced the amount of protein he consumed during the day and began to incorporate plant-based products. He also stressed that it is important to eat before and after each workout. With as busy a schedule as an actor of this stature can have, he surprised everyone when he claimed in an interview that he wakes up at 2.25 a.m. (yes, you read that right!) to have breakfast in time to start his routine at 4 a.m. But he ends the day at 19.30 because he believes rest is fundamental.

Another key thing he said is that it is necessary to stretch after a workout and that he usually adds a protein shake to his balanced diet. He also stated that he uses a cryotherapy chamber to relieve muscle pain and help reduce possible joint inflammation.

So if you are thinking of preparing to run a marathon, you already know what is necessary to make it: a balanced and healthy diet, organization and consistency to maintain a routine and good rest. Of course, don't forget to consult your family doctor throughout the whole process.
