The biggest-budget independent movie to shoot in recent years

Moonfall

Roland Emmerich's (Independence Day, Midway) upcoming film has been gaining popularity for several months. Since the announcement of the project, it has generated expectation in all fans who are eager to watch his upcoming work on the big screen: Moonfall. What is the detail worth noting? The budget of the film was 140 million dollars, which makes it the biggest-budget independent movie filmed in recent years.

The film stars Halle Berry (The Call), Patrick Wilson and a great cast. What mission will they embark on? When a mysterious force strikes the moon, knocks it out of orbit and heads towards planet Earth, all humans will be in grave danger. Therefore, some NASA executives and retired astronauts must become heroes as they must go to space to avoid the collision, but there they will find something they didn’t expect from this natural satellite: it is not what it seems to be.

The project began filming in Canada at the beginning of 2020 but then had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the wait is finally over and filming resumed in October. The film is believed to be released early next year in the United States and although there is yet no confirmed release date for Latin American theaters, we will surely have more news of this epic film in the coming weeks.
