Incredible, isn't it?

This time we’ll tell you some fun facts for film fans that we believe will blow your mind. We list them below:

1)       We call it the Seventh Art, but why? According to Hegel's classification, architecture, sculpture, painting, music and poetry were the main arts, but then Ricciotto Canuto, an Italian artist, wrote the Manifesto of the Seven Arts and established a modern hierarchy that we all use to this day: architecture, sculpture, painting, music, poetry/literature, dance and cinema.

2) The oldest film school is in Moscow, Russia and was called the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography when founded in 1919 by film director Vladimir Gardin. It is now called the Russian State University of Cinematography.

3) The Lumière brothers invented the cinematograph and patented it in 1895. It was a device that served as a camera and projector and that is how they shot their first film, La sortie des ouvriers des usines Lumière à Lyon Monplaisir (Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory in Lyon-Monplaisir).

4) Becky Sharp, directed by Rouben Mamoulian and starring Miriam Hopkins, was the first color film in 1935.

5) For fans of the genre, do you know what the first horror film in history was? It was called Le manoir du diable (The House of the Devil), it was directed by George Méliès and released in 1896.

6) The oldest awards are the Oscars. The first ceremony was held on May 16, 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles.

7) The first canine star in history was called Blair, although its stage name was Rover, and it starred in Rescued by Rover.

8) The longest sequence shot in film history is in the movie Victoria. It is a 134-minute film shot entirely in one take -yes, you heard that right! It was shot in Berlin from four in the morning until dawn.

9) The clapperboard was invented by Frank W. Thring, an Australian filmmaker. Why? Because he was looking for an element that had greater functionality than the slates that were used back then. The characteristic "clack" sound also marked the exact moment when the recording started.

10) The first anime film to win an Oscar for Best Animated Feature was Spirited Away, Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi in its original name, in 2003.
