Actors who are committed to the environment

It is important to take care of the place we live in

We often forget that the planet earth we live in is the only one we have to breathe, eat, enjoy, and live. Sometimes we even believe we are the owners, that it belongs to us, without realizing that we are simply guests of this beautiful planet that kindly houses us. Some actors and actresses, in addition to having a great talent for acting, remind us that every time they can since, as human beings, they care a lot about the future of the planet and they do what is possible to raise awareness about destroying the world we live so that it is suitable for future generations. On several occasions, they join protests, make millionaire donations to causes in which they really believe in, collaborate with different entities, or even create their own foundations.

It is very kind that actors and actresses so well known around the world are activists and use their fame to make the message diversify, gain visibility, and reach a large number of people. Many of their struggles are inspiring and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

Leonardo Dicaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street) works hard against climate change, speaking out in favor of raising awareness about global warming, conserving biodiversity, and protecting wild animals. He started his own foundation twenty years ago, and he created a fund to stop fires in the Amazon some years ago.

Emma Watson (The Bling Ring) not only consistently supports women's rights, but she is always sharing images or videos about the environmental and social impact on our planet. On several occasions, she has worn eco-friendly garments, that is to say, friendly with the environment to transmit messages about the reality of climate change.

Zac Efron (Dirty Grandpa, We Are Your Friends) recently showed a new facet in his new series "Down to Earth" where he invites us to practice sustainable lifestyles and the use of renewable energy while traveling the world knowing different cultures.

On the other hand, Robert Redford (All is lost) allowed his name to be used for a non-profit organization - Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern California Sustainability - for the conservation of nature in Los Angeles, an area degraded by urban growth and contamination. The organization also has facilities for research and education on environmental issues.

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz - who will soon star in the film 355 with Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game), Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyongʻo and Bingbing Fan - has participated in multiple projects related to the conservation of the planet. Among these, she promotes the use of electric vehicles, and she voiced water in an International Conservation campaign.

What about you? What do you do to take care of the planet?
