We saw him shine in the 2019 Oscar winning feature Green Book, and even though his talent has been shown not only in this role but throughout his whole trajectory, Viggo Mortensen has different personal and artistic facets we’d like you to know.
- He was born in the United States on October 20, 1958, but he lived many years of his childhood in Venezuela and Argentina. That is why he speaks Spanish very well, and he is a fan of San Lorenzo de Almagro football club.
- He’s always been very keen on poetry and he published his first poem collection Ten Last Night in 1993. He also owns the Perceval Press publisher through which he has published some of his work.
- He is also interested in visual arts and he has made some abstract works with fragments of his poems. His works were exhibited as part of the scenographyin some of his films.
- As if writing and painting were not enough, he has a great interest in photography, and he exhibited his photos at the prestigious Robert Mann Gallery in New York.
- What is the only thing missing? Yes, music. But he also had time to release several albums, collaborate with Buckethead and sing some verses written by Tolkien on the soundtrack of The Return of the King.
- The last fun fact: his life has allowed him to learn Danish, Arabic, English, French, Russian, Swedish and German.
He is such a remarkable actor.
