Gerard Butler never gives up action movies. Therefore, after starring in Geostorm (2017) and being a policeman with his own rules in Den of Thieves (2018) he returns to the big screen with Greenland.
In a world that is facing an imminent catastrophe due to the appearance of a giant meteorite, Butler and his family are selected to go to Greenland to avoid tragedy.
Greenland reunites Butler with director Ric Roman Waugh, who had worked together on Angel Has Fallen (2019), the trilogy of secret agent Mike Banning.
What is Greenland about?
“Greenland is a disaster film very much like A Quiet Place or World War Z or War of the Worlds,” says the director, and adds more details: “It’s about a comet that is going to supposedly come by the Earth and be a big Super Bowl Party, the closest thing since Haley’s Comet”
But they suddenly realize that it is not a comet that approaches the earth, but a belt of comets that put the planet in imminent danger.
Jeff’s (Butler) family is chosen to save their lives in the only existing shelter, but what will happen to the rest of the world?
