Director Gavin Hood's film allows the viewer to reflect on whether Gun's action was right or a betrayal to the State for disclosing confidential information.

Actor Ralph Fiennes gave details of Hood's work. "I think the relationship between Gavin (Hood), and human rights causes is something you feel very strong when you work with him." He added: "the script is the dedication to the authenticity of the story, of the legal processes, the things that Katharine faced, the pressures of the Government that she suffered, I think that attracts him."

Official Secrets. A captivating thriller

Undoubtedly, the audience will be astonished when they see the difficulties that the protagonist will face, and Fiennes broadens on this point: “It is a political thriller. There is a lot of legal detail, but you are attracted to know what will happen to this young woman who has done this. The film keeps you expectant in your seat, we believe she is a good person, we notice her integrity and she does this by her principles, and as the audience we want to know if she will succeed,” he concluded.
