The reasons why we like so much horror films is the source of frequent debate but what is certain is that the film Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is considered one of the greatest promises of the year for the genre fans.
Based on one the short stories of the iconic series of books written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Brett Helquist, the film is directed by the acclaimed director of The Autopsy of Jane Doe, André Øvredal and produced by Mexican Guillermo del Toro.
The cast is another strong point of the film since it features the superb performances of young talents: Abrams, Zoe Margaret Colletti, Michael Garza and Gabriel Rush.
The chilling book by Sara Bellow
They will be the teenagers that, in the small town Mill Valley, will find in a haunted house the book written by Sarah Bellow, a woman who turned terrible secrets into chilling stories.
The story becomes terrifying when the characters of the book, now in the hands of the group of friends, become real. Or, as one of the protagonists says: “You don’t read the book, the book reads you.”
