Max Minghella undergoes the scrutiny of the media in the unprecedented role of director. In one of the interviews to promote his first feature film Teen Spirit, he talked about the reasons that led him to film the story of a girl who competes in a contest to become a pop star.
“I´m a teenager in the bottom of my heart”, said Max Minghella, and added: “but, besides, because I love pop music, the stories that mix different cultures, and the atmosphere of that type of reality shows that I thought were interesting looking into.”
Elle Fanning, the protagonist of the film, said on an interview to MTV News that the film allowed her to show another side of herself. “The audience usually sees me acting but in this film I also sing and that was totally new for me”. As to her character, she said: “I understand her. I myself have dreamt of being a pop star”.
As a proud father of his new creature, the new director thanked his team: “They made it possible for a challenging movie like this to come to light. Thank you".
