The Academy Awards ceremony celebrated the best of cinema this Sunday, March 12. During this unforgettable night, Everything Everywhere All At Once won seven awards and continues to be a success half a year after its release in Latin American theaters.
First, Ke Huy Quan received the award in the category of Best Supporting Actor. His moving speech brought tears to more than one of those present, not only because he recalled his difficult career but also because of the wonderful message he conveyed through the screen: the importance of fighting for your dreams and never giving up.
On the other hand, Jamie Lee Curtis stood out as Best Supporting Actress. While accepting the award, Jamie expressed that it was a victory achieved by everyone, from her fans to her co-stars in the film. She also mentioned her parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, who were nominated but never won. Still, their daughter was finally there continuing the wonderful legacy.
Finally, Michelle Yeoh took home the award for Best Actress for her role as Evelyn Quan Wang. She is the first Asian actress to win the statuette and the oldest nominee in that category at sixty years old. During her speech, she stressed that dreams truly can come true and said, "Ladies, don't let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime."
And that's not all! In addition to receiving the award for Best Picture, Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert received a statuette for Best Original Screenplay and Best Director. An incredible night for Everything Everywhere All At Onceas it became the first film in history to win an Oscar in all major categories and the most awarded film in a decade.
