Vadhir Derbez's birthday

Free gift: poster and trailer debut

Vadhir Derbez Alejandro González Torres Prince is the real - and long! - full name of the Mexican actor, who was born on February 18, 1991. Although he is the son of renowned comedian Eugenio Derbez (who we will soon see shining in CODA), a distinctive characteristic is that Derbez in this case is not his last name, but his first name. In a video he posted on his social networks a few months ago, he explained it: "My dad is Eugenio González Derbez, so we get the González and the Derbez is lost, but my mom, who is very smart, registered Derbez in my birth certificate as my first name."

Vadhir began his acting career in 1997 in a television series called Derbez en cuando. Then in 2002, he had an important role in Cómplices al rescate, a children's soap opera, and he continued working within the genre in De pocas, pocas pulgas in 2003. After several other projects, he participated in 2006 in a Mexican-American series called La querida del Centauro created by Teleset and Sony Pictures Television, which was broadcast throughout Latin America. He then participated in the successful series Sense 8 together with Miguel Ángel Silvestre, and in 2017, it would be his turn to star in How to be a Latin Lover, alongside his father, Salma Hayek (The Roads Not Taken), Rob Lowe, Rachel Welch, and Kristen Bell (Bad Moms, A Bad Moms Christmas).

This 2021 we will see him alongside Guy Pearce in a new horror movie – The Seventh Day - directed by Justin P. Lange. In this film he will play an innocent, rookie priest who must face the demons that exist in the world and his own on his first day of training. The movie's poster and trailer debuted today so if you haven't seen them yet, you can watch them here!

And finally, we dedicate the young actor part of the famous Mexican song (las mañanitas) to celebrate the birthday: "How beautiful is the morning, when we come to greet you, we all come with pleasure to wish you a happy birthday."

Happy birthday!
