Diane Colleen Lane, popularly known as Diane Lane, was born in New York on January 22, 1965. She entered the world of professional acting at a very young age, since she was already part of La Mama Experimental Theatre in New York when she was six years old and she also performed Shakespeare at the Festival that bears its name. She traveled all over the world thanks to the world tours of these plays.
Her film debut was in 1979, at age 13, in the film A Little Romance and she has been part of countless feature films with great stars since then, such as The Perfect Storm with George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg (Mile 22), Hardball with Keanu Reeves (Destination Wedding), Unfaithful with Richard Gere, Serenity with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, among many others.
Her flawless career and love for acting led her to win the Oscar for Best Actress in 2013 for her outstanding performance in Unfaithful. She was also nominated in several opportunities for the Golden Globe, Emmy and Actors' Union awards.
