- The movie is based on Michael Bond’s books which have been translated into thirty languages in seventy titles, and more than 30 million copies have been sold worldwide. In the books, Paddington’s real name is Pastuso.
- What kind of Peruvian bear is it? Specialists say that, according to the area, it could be a spectacled bear.
- Colin Firth was initially going to provide the voice of the bear, but he was replaced by Ben Wishaw because a cheerful voice was needed.
- The bear didn’t originally wear red boots, but instead they were added by toy makers to help it stand up.
- It was honored as “Britain's favorite animated character” at the British Animation Awards in 2012.
