A decisive story for modern life

The Current War portrays the competition to impose an electrical system on the world

Few characters have attracted the attention of cinema like Thomas Edison, the most famous inventor in the United States who lived from 1847 to 1931.

Responsible for inventions that have changed the lives of millions of people, there is one in particular that revolutionized the world: electric light. Of course, the task of literally "enlightening the world" was not easy.

Another electricity giant, a tycoon of the time called George Westinghouse, presented a tough competition to Edison in the task of imposing a sustainable system across the country.

This epic competition that defined the world as we know it today is masterfully portrayed in the film The Current War.

An amazing cast

In the official trailer we can see outstanding Benedict Cumberbatch playing Edison, while Michael Shannon is Westinghouse. But there is more.

Another strong character like inventor Nikola Tesla played by Nicholas Houl enters the scene to finish defining the historical bid known as the War of the Currents.

Directed by Alfonso Gómez-Rejón, The Current War shows one of the most exciting episodes in modern history that few people know.

Don’t miss it!
