In the film Official Secrets, Keira Knightley is a translator for the British secret services that puts everything at risk to bring to light information that all citizens deserve to know.
These were times when the War against Iraq was coming, and the translator discovered that the United States and Britain conspired to justify war while pressuring their minor partners.
Keira Knightley's vision of her next challenge
“I was very interested in making this movie because it is a dramatic and fascinating historical period that has had a great impact with consequences to this day,” said the actress when asked about her next film, adding: “everyone on the set felt it was a story that should be told."
When referring to her character, Knightley said the translator leaked the maneuver of these two countries "moved by her conscience." She added that: “in a way, it is a story of loss of innocence, because she sees something that she thinks is wrong, something that she knows can cost the lives of millions of people- and it certainly was. And she thought she could do something.”
Directed by Gavin Hood, Official Secrets is one of Knightley's best works. Do not miss it!
