Jordan Calloway: “we all depend on apps”

The protagonist of Countdown embraces technology

Jordan Calloway stars Countdown along with Elizabeth Lail. The film directed by newcomer but experienced Justin Dec lets the audience reflect on the excessive use of cell phones and the different apps.

With horror and suspense, the film follows the life of Quinn Harris (Lail), a young nurse who finds out she only has two days left to live.

Calloway, renown for successful television series such as Riverdale, Unfabulous and ER, gives details about the protagonists: “Lail’s character and mine are dealing with the same problem. After consulting their date of death, they are haunted by different ghosts and demons. In the case of my character, it’s about his brother. He takes along what happened years ago.”

But before telling more, he says: “I don’t want to reveal too much about the story, but they are both trying to eliminate the app form the phones.”

Countdown. An app that can bring about too many problems

The film shows the excessive use of technology, but for the actor this is not so serious: “we all depend on apps. For me, Instagram and Facebook are very important. That's why Countdown is so cool. We also love trying new apps and being part of the great novelty or madness. It goes back to the old adage if someone jumps off a cliff, what are you going to do? Will you do it too?” he ends.
