Diamond's Greatest Film Directors

Let's meet some of our best filmmakers

There are different directors in the seventh art with the wonderful ability to tell stories through the camera. From choosing a frame to creating a sequence shot, we can find incredibly talented filmmakers in Hollywood. Let's take a look at some of them:

Damián Szifrón: his first film was El fondo del mar, a dark comedy starring Dolores Fonzi and Daniel Hendler. His work was nationally acclaimed with the TV series Los simuladores, and he later made it to Hollywood with the film Wild Tales, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film. His latest film, To Catch a Killer, is now in theaters in Latin America.

Ridley Scott: his first films were The Duellist, Alien, and Blade Runner, which became classics and cult films. He is a filmmaker who stands out for his concentrated and atmospheric visual style. One of his most successful films, which received several Golden Globe and Oscar nominations, was All the Money in the World. Starring Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg, and Christopher Plummer (Remember; Elsa & Fred), the film tells the story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III and his mother Gail's desperate attempt to convince his billionaire grandfather to pay the ransom.

Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert: also known as the Daniels, they began their career as music video directors until they made their progressive transition to film. Their first film was Swiss Army Man, starring Daniel Radcliffe. Then they decided to tell an original story, Everything Everywhere All at Once, which received several Academy Awards. The film follows a Chinese immigrant who must save humanity by traveling to other universes. Unfortunately, this leads to an even greater challenge when she finds herself lost in the infinite worlds of the multiverse. The film delves into the concept of parallel realities to tell another story: the relationship between a mother and her daughter.

And that's not all! There are other superb film directors, such as J.A. Bayona, who made A Monster Calls, and Steven Soderbergh, who directed Logan Lucky and produced The Report.

Stay tuned!
