Love stories can be portrayed in different ways, and one of them is through the eyes of teenagers: the first love, the challenges, and obstacles of growing up, or the first heartbreak.
Let’s go through some of the best romance movies where the protagonists are teenagers:
- The Duff: the film tells the story of Bianca, a high school senior whose world is shattered when she learns that the rest of the students call her Duff (Designated Ugly Fat Friend). To change this label, she recruits Wesley, a cunning but lovely boy who will help her reinvent herself.
- The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), returns home after winning the 74th edition of the Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. However, the calm is short-lived because President Snow declares that all winners, through a lottery, will have to play again for the new edition of the games. Katniss and Peeta will grow closer and true love will be born between them in this new competition.
- Beautiful Creatures: a supernatural love story set in the Southern United States starring Ethan, a young man who wants to escape from his small town, and Lena, a new and mysterious girl. Together they will learn about the dark secrets of their families, their history, and their people.
Other titles that can be included on this list are The Space Between Us, The Mortal Instruments, and Vampire Academy. After Ever Happy, the last installment of the sage starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford, and inspired by Anna Todd’s novel, will hit theaters in Latin America this year.
