2020 awards: the Oscars and the Golden Globes

Both ceremonies have been postponed

Due to the unprecedented global context we are living because of the covid-19, both the Oscars and Golden Globes will be held in 2021. This delay will give Hollywood an extra amount of time to finish and release a greater number of films.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has dated February 28 as the new date for the 78th Golden Globes celebration, which will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The Academy, on the other hand, announced the Oscars ceremony has been scheduled for April 25.

There will also be certain changes regarding the requirements that films must meet to be eligible for the awards. For example, the eligibility window for films vying for nominations has been extended (which is usually the first week of December when members start voting).

Which movies do we think will qualify for these awards?

Among the next releases we think –according to what the specialized critics have been saying- The Green Knight, the film starring Dev Patel, and Breaking News in Yuba County, a dramatic thriller starring Juliette Lewis and Mila Kunis.
