Action + comedy: an explosive combination

My Spy represents the best of both worlds

Experience allows a director to know the genres in detail and to work with a large number of artists. Therefore, they can make fun of some conventions and get a perfect result.

Peter Segal has spent almost all his life behind the camera and for My Spy, he wanted to mix two styles: action and comedy. And he did it perfectly!

"We definitely knew we wanted to distort the genre (...) so, every time we knew there was something we were doing similar to a real spy movie, we said: "We have to make fun of that " the director told the press.

When asked about whether there were movies left behind, Segal replied: “there are many, many that we could not do, so if there is another (sequel), I am sure we will continue… As long as Bonds and Mission Impossible continue, we will continue forward”.

My Spy. An unexpected encounter full of adventures

Sophie (Chloe Coleman) is barely 9 years old and is very clever, so it was easy for her finding out the espionage mission carried out by JJ (Dave Bautista). The agent, between a rock and a hard place for a series of missions that went wrong, cannot risk this mission.

Both, the girl and the agent, must do business so that the truth remains a secret.

Sophie has a great idea: she wants JJ to teach her everything he knows about espionage and thus prevent her classmates from making fun of her.

A story not to be missed!
