Alexandra Shipp: "we are making fun of ourselves"

The actress who stands between the protagonist and her phone in Jexi

The applications and operating systems that surround us have a clear intention: to make our daily lives easier. But what happens when your virtual assistant becomes jealous?

Jexi is a funny comedy by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers of The Hangover, and the directors and writers of "Bad Moms"

Starring Adam Devine, Phil buys a new smartphone with a very particular virtual assistant: Jexi (voiced by Rose Byrne), who immediately gets in the way of his romance with Cate (Alexandra Shipp).

Jexi. The feelings of the female protagonist

Shipp had a lot of fun acting in front of Devine. "He is funny. He often improvised and did his thing. It was not easy because I could not laugh,” said the actress.

With a career that includes participations in Love, Simon and X-Men: Apocalypse, she felt specifically attracted to the script, thanks to the realistic way in which it referred to the real problems of the dating world, but with humor. "I read it and I thought this movie is funny because we're good at making fun of ourselves, we're also talking about some real things," Shipp recalls.

Jexi is soon to be released in all theaters!
