Julia Roberts: "you never have to give up on each other"

In her new film, the actress highlights her irresistible star quality

In the film Ben is Back, Julia Roberts embodies Holly Burns, a brave woman whose eldest son represents her greatest concern.

In drug rehabilitation, 19-year-old Ben shows up unexpectedly on Christmas Eve before a mother who, although she knows deep down that the problems will soon appear, cannot deny him spending a day with his family.

"The script of Peter Hedges presents a myriad of ways in which addiction can affect bonds", reflected this movie icon on her new film.

"Julia identified a lot with Holly, a mother who would do anything for her son", said Hedges, director and scriptwriter of the story, who also has his son Lucas in Ben’s role.

"The youngest of the Hedges is very special and we created a very close bond", the actress said, adding: "There were some challenging scenes so it was our good fortune to have that true connection".

A powerful performance by a great artist

“The one concept we are trying to put across in this movie is just to not give up on each other”, ended the actress who, along with a script with a large dose of emotion, is facing one of the best roles in her long career.
