It is becoming more and more common for some actors to become directors, for example, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, or George Clooney. Dev Patel (Lion) is another case as he decided to direct Monkey Man, which follows a recently released ex-convict in India who must face the challenge of integrating into a society dominated by corporate greed and where spiritual values are in decline.
Dev Patel (Lion) stars in this action-packed film, in which he didn't have to prepare much to tell the story as he has been training in Taekwondo since he was ten years old and he got his black belt 1st dan at the age of sixteen. We’ll soon get the chance to witness his great martial arts knowledge on the big screen.
On the other hand, this revenge thriller features the presence of filmmaker Jordan Peele on the production side. The director of Get Out and Nope has supervised the project to make sure it is a success. Amazing actors have also been called in, including Sobhita Dhuliwala, Brahim Achabbakhe, Pitobash, Sikander Kher, and Sharlto Copley.
Monkey Man will hit theaters in Latin America this year.
