Traveling to Qatar: Operation Fortune

Today we match the Qatar World Cup 2022 with one of our movies!

We’ll start 2023 with a big premiere. Guy Ritchie's new film, starring Jason Statham (Parker), Josh Hartnett, Aubrey Plaza (Dirty Grandpa), and Hugh Grant (The Rewrite) will hit the big screen in all Latin American theaters. Operation Fortune follows MI6 agent Orson Fortune and his team, who decide to recruit a movie star to carry out an undercover mission. The goal is to find a high-tech weapon and prevent it from getting into the wrong hands.

Did you know this film was shot in Qatar? Guy Ritchie's films are known for showing incredible landscapes; therefore, Operation Fortune is no exception as it travels through different countries, including Qatar, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

The film is set in various parts of Qatar, more specifically in Doha. To show the wonders of the place, they focused on the striking and iconic buildings and the architecture of the Museum of Islamic Art. This is a city that is increasingly gaining prominence in the entertainment industry.

What is unique about Qatar? It is a sovereign Arab state located in western Asia, whose state religion is Muslim. Before the discovery of oil, the country was famous for pearl harvesting and maritime trade. Another interesting fact is that the population is made up of native Arabs and foreigners who move to the country to work in the oil industry. Arabic is the main language although most of the population is fluent in English.

Would you like to see this film and learn more about Qatar? It will be in theaters in Latin America in January 2023.

Stay tuned for more trips!
