Benedict Cumberbatch is a film, television, and stage actor, who was born on July 19, 1976, in Hammersmith, London. The son of parents with the same profession, Cumberbatch showed interest in acting from a very young age. He was finally recognized worldwide due to his interpretation of Stephen Hawking in the movie Hawking (2004), and he later played supporting roles in Atonement and The Other Boleyn Girl. His most outstanding characters to date, and which will go down in film history, are Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Strange.
Let's take a look at two great films starring this actor:
The Imitation Game: the film tells the story of Alan Turing, a pioneer of modern computing and a genius, who helped shorten the war under extreme pressure while saving thousands of lives. A well-known leader of a diverse group of academics, linguists, chess champions, and intelligence officers, he was credited with cracking the theoretically unbreakable codes of the German Enigma machine during World War II.
The Current War: the film follows Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, two important figures in the electrical industry, as they compete to create a sustainable system to market throughout the United States. A great story featuring an incredible cast, including Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man, Collide), Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Katherine Waterston (Mid 90’s), and Michael Shannon (12 Strong, What They Had).
