Venice International Film Festival

It will take place from September 1 to 11

Another year has passed and the long-awaited Venice International Film Festival has arrived. This 78th edition will be held in person with all the necessary health and safety protocols. The aim of the event is - according to the official website - to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The Festival also organizes tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.

The list of the participating titles was announced several weeks ago and there is a name that stands out and resonates strongly: Spencer. This is the latest project by Chilean director Pablo Larraín (Jackie) and it revolves around a part of the life of Princess Diana of Wales: the weekend she decides to end her marriage to Prince Charles.

The first poster and trailer for the film were released last week in Latin America and we were able to see Kristen Stewart’s stunning performance in a role that is certainly a great challenge and a great responsibility. Film critics have already stated that this film, the director and the actress are potential candidates for the Golden Globe and Academy Awards, among others. And we cannot forget the screenwriter, Steven Knight, known worldwide for having written the successful series Peaky Blinders.

This is definitely a must-see of the season and we will soon know the release date in Latin American theaters.

Keep an eye out for more news!
