The story of the apparitions of Fatima

A turning point for the Catholic faith

In times when we have to stay at home, we want to take the opportunity to tell you a story that shocked the world in 1917, and on which Fatima is based, one of the films that we will most expect in the post-quarantine era.

That year, three little shepherds returned from their work saying that they had seen the Virgin Mary. In the small rural town of Fatima in Portugal, people got angry as they didn’t believe them, but then the confidence and consistency of the children made everyone think they could be telling the truth.

One of the most moving stories in our modern history

Brothers Francisco and Jacinta Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos assured time after time that the mother of Jesus had appeared to them on several occasions, something that Catholicism later embraced and took for granted.

Today Fatima is a pilgrimage site for millions of parishioners from all over the world.

Italian filmmaker Marco Pontecorvo takes over this story that continues to move everyone a hundred years later and he plans to take it to the big screen.

We’ll watch it when we meet us again in movie theaters.
