The film directed by Ric Roman Waugh shows the fierce struggle of a couple, played by Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin, to save their son from an impending natural catastrophe.
This family is one of those chosen to enter an underground bunker in Greenland when a comet looms towards the planet and is about to collide with the Earth.
As the director of the film explains, it is a belt of comets that "begins to enter the atmosphere and creates havoc". And he adds that "the film is very close to the next period of extinction of humanity as it happened with dinosaurs."
In a vertiginous plot where time is short, the family has only 24 hours to reach the only safe place on Earth, before the world we all know is destroyed forever.
Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor and David Denman complete the cast of this film that will be a millstone in the genre.
