Brian Kirk: "the experience leaked into the movie"

21 Bridges and the consequences of shooting at night

Detective Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman) is going to make an unprecedented decision after the murder of eight New York City policemen: he will shut down Manhattan Island for a night to find the criminals!

It was not easy shooting overnight for the cast and the production team of 21 Bridges. “Your body is very affected by eight weeks of night footage. Most people have not been through that before,” recalls director Brian Kirk.

The change in the schedule and daily routine was something the protagonist highlighted when facing work. “Chadwick (Boseman) said the experience leaked into the film in a really interesting and authentic way. Physical exhaustion made him take advantage of what happens to police officers,” said the director.

He also said that the police often find themselves under the same circumstances when a police case begins- mainly in homicides- because they can get to work three or four days in a row without sleeping or sleeping during short times to catch the criminals.

21 Bridges, a captivating police movie from start to finish!
