Director Brian Kirk is excited to promote his next project 21 Bridges, a megaproduction starring Chadwick Boseman and produced by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo.
New York City as you have never seen it before
“I am fascinated by chase movies and the moral journeys they present. This is a thriller that has the power of a massive persecution,” says this Irish filmmaker about the film that follows a detective in his attempt to capture two criminals who murdered a group of policemen in New York.
This character played by Boseman closes Manhattan to hunt the criminals. “There is a conceptual purity, visceral realism and a scale and a high-level show that arise with the idea of closing Manhattan overnight,” says Kirk and he adds: “It's almost like a military invasion. It has an archetypal clarity that you associate with classical myths and with the tradition of New York police films. 21 Bridges is a modern story that falls within that tradition.”
Thus, Kirk who has already surprised in the direction of series like Dexter and Boardwalk Empire now tries the big screen with this mega premiere. A must- see film!
