Green Book was a real winner at the Golden Globes.
The story about an absolutely unlikely interracial friendship received no less than three awards in the great ceremony that not only opens the awards season in Hollywood but also represents the typical precursor to the Oscars.
Green Book goes up the stage three times
Breaking with several forecasts that indicated other films as the winners, Green Book won the category for best comedy film unseating Vice, the most nominated film of the night.
Starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali and inspired by a true story, this film became one of the most successful movies of the night by winning the category for best screenplay, a text written by Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie and the own director of the film, Peter Farrelly.
But there is more. Because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association also recognized Ali’s clever interpretation in the skin of the renowned pianist Don Shirley that gave him the award for the best supporting actor.
A deserved recognition for the film that allows us to be privileged witnesses of the close friendship of two men who must confront racism and danger, with great doses of generosity and humor.
