John Ortiz may be an actor not so used to action films, but he felt attracted by Peppermint from the first moment: "What attracted me to this project was that it was a genre I hadn’t done before. Good action and a lot of emotion. Urban environments, here in Los Angeles. There is something about the fast pace of everything that made me want to participate," he said.
In charge of playing detective Moisés Beltrán, Ortiz will have to find Riley North (Jennifer Garner, in her return to the action world) who returns to the city to avenge the death of her entire family.
One of the things that surprised him most during the filming was the director's skill: "I love working with Pierre (Morel). He has an apparent relaxed appearance, but he is actually very intense and very attached to what he specifically wants. And how certain parts of the set are going to be made. I love working with a director who has in mind how things are going to be. There is a certain freedom when you know what you are looking for," he concluded.
