Melissa McCarthy talks about The Happytime murders

The queen of comedy shines in the hilarious new version of the classic puppets

If you think about the podium of entertainment comedians, the name of Mellisa McCarthy surely appears. And now all the magic of her talent is in her next film The Happytime murders, which brings the endearing puppets back to the big screen.

"The fact of making a super clever police story with puppets seemed like a great and fun idea," McCarthy revealed about her motivation to participate in the project. "Definitely, these are not the classic Muppets. It is not a movie for children. But bringing that story to something very different was fascinating," said the artist.

Talking with puppets

McCarthy plays detective Connie Edwards, a LAPD cop who must team up with her former partner, puppet detective Phil Phillips, to catch a serial killer.

In relation to working with puppets, the actress explained that "it was incredibly easy because all the puppeteers are amazing". And she ended with laughter: "they are so skilled in what they do, they simply dissolve behind the puppet and you find yourself like an insane person talking to the puppet alone!".
