Mark Wahlberg and his character on Mile 22

The fourth collaboration between Wahlberg and his favorite director Peter Berg

When it comes to blowing up the screen with a lot of action, it's better to have Mark Wahlberg on the team. This actor, one of the most sought after in the industry, shines in the next megaproduction by Peter Berg, Mile 22.

Wahlberg confessed his character as a dark CIA agent that fights the dirty battles of the government is very different from the one he has starred throughout his career.

"At first, when Pete came up with the idea, the character was almost a secondary villain, but over the time, and while he was putting the script together, agent Jimmy Silva evolved," to which he added: "I had not played the bad guy for a long time. Even though Jimmy is now the main character, he undoubtedly lives and breathes in this gray area."

Armed to the teeth

This thriller full of adrenaline is inspired by the authentic culture of the US special forces, but Wahlberg could avoid going to training camp to learn how to use weapons.

"It happens that I have had a lot of training with weapons throughout my career, what I had to solve was how to be fast, which was what my character required (laughs)...". And he confesses: "my resource was to drink a lot of coffee, which I don’t do in my daily life".
